The Oscar Noms

Early this morning, the Oscar nominations were announced by Anne Hathaway and some dude.  I was stunned and shocked by the ten (10!) noms in the Best Picture category.  That is way too many and we all know that Avatar will take the statue.  Not because it's worthy of the prize, but rather that James Cameron will defeat his ex.  Yes, that's right, this is a battle between ex's.  James Cameron vs. Kathryn Bigelow.  Once married, now challengers on the field of cinematography.  I sense that Kate will receive two or three statues, but Jim will collect all the rest.  This is the story for the show and it will be mentioned more than once by the entertainment media, even on Oscar night. The host may even make a joke or two about Jim and Kate in the opening.  Just wait and see.

Photographry and children

This story makes me mad as hell!

Since when is it illegal to take a picture of children with Santa,
especially in a public place like a mall?!?! The officers in this
case and all like it are wacked-out and need to be shown the door. I
would suggest that everyone pull out your cameras and snap pictures of
every child you see in the mall. Or for that matter, every child that
you see period. Pedophiles be damned! I don't believe in an America
where our freedoms are dictated by the few bad apples among us. This
is outrageous and stupid! I fully support Mr. Rensberger and I would
encourage him to continue taking pictures.

One week

It is one week until my 30th birthday.  Sadly, I will be working the night before and and the night of, so I will have a party on the Monday after, or the fifth of October for those of you who are brain-dead and cannot think for yourselves.  I am inviting no one to this party and it shall not be considered a pity, I will enjoy the solitude and the time away from the rat race of civilized society.  I will ponder many things and pose many queries to the trees and the squirrels, none will be answered and not a word to be spoken.  I will enter a deep thought process and magically return with a full stream of consciousness to be bombarded by the universe.  Life can be so grand and the answer is 42.

I think more should be built, make them high-tech, with cameras and
security systems. If a bum begins to urinate, zap him with a bolt of
energy, smokers would get doused by an overhead sprinkler system, and
those that wish to sleep over night would be charged for the room. I
think this is doable and I would encourage a local entrepreneur to get
right on it.

Apollo 11 + 40

Today is the day that we mark the historic landing of man on the moon.  Forty years ago, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin stepped out of the lunar module and placed footprints on a foreign celestial body.  A very riveting time for our nation and the world as a whole.  I applaud NASA for replaying the tapes from those history-making days in real-time, I have been listening to them and have found much interesting material.  No doubt that Buzz and Neil were very excited about the important and improbable feat that they were to accomplish on this day.  

I encourage everyone to pause for a moment today to reflect upon the masterful and unlikely events of today and send a message to Congress that we need to return to the moon and go to Mars and beyond.  It is our destiny as humans to seek out what is beyond our grasp and to explore what is beyond our reach.  Godspeed Neil and Buzz and all of our astronauts.

Flying

Recently, I flew from Missoula, Montana to Fresno, California via Delta Airlines.  My journey was pleasant and, for the most part, uneventful.  The employees were all very polite and helpful and the worst that happened was them not getting one of my two checked bags back to me until the next day.  My first flight by myself and they misplace one my checked bags.  Not a big deal, cause when I did get it back, all was in order and no complaint needed to be filed.  Not so for Dave Carroll.  

An airline destroying a guitar and then not paying for it's negligence is absurd and cause for a boycott.  You won't see me on United anytime soon.

Montana

I have had a wonderful time in Montana. Well, as wonderful a time as can be had while working with the bees.  I have managed to avoid being stung, accomplished by wearing a bee suit and deftly handling boxes and frames.  The weather has been mostly hot with a cool spell happening in the past 24 hours or so.  Will be glad to return to California tomorrow, on what will be my first time flying alone.  I will be walking through security, finding the gate, and changing planes, all by my lonesome.  Now, I know that for a 29-and-a-half year-old like myself to be saying this may sound weird and even a bit stupid to some people, I think it is a highlight of my life that I am able to do this on my own.  Not that I am in any way physically or mentally handicapped or the least bit stupid or retarded, I am just a normal male who realizes the enormity of the world and all its wondrous ways.  It should be noted for the record, that I am married and I am fully capable of living the good life if I weren't just so damn lazy and bored of life.  I attempt to find the fun, but it is hard and I like to make things easy and to do so while maintaining the highest quality is not so simple after all.  Am I just rambling, perhaps, but this all needs to be said.  I will sign off now, enjoy the day!

A new message for the masses

I am writing today's post from my office in Livermore, a few days before I depart for Montana with my dad to work the bees and earn a living doing something, because no one is hiring in this area.  Or at least not hiring for a full-time position at a pay-rate necessary to sustain a family (or in my case, myself and my wife and her brother).  

I am sorta excited about Montana.  Being I have been to the state before, it won't be new territory, just a new part of the state.  So, in a way, it is new territory, just not a new state to me.  That's what I mean, yeah.

Anyways, I will have limited internet access while there and will post updates when able.  Pictures as well.  So, until my next post, have a safe and happy day.

One week until rehearsal

Here it is, just one week until we practice the moves to be used on the Sunday, June 1st. Of course, I am referring to my wedding, which arrives in about one week. It is a bit of nervousness, a bit of fear, trepidation, excitement, loathing, wandering, wondering, happiness, giddyness, and other asundry emotions that I feel leading up to this special day in my life, in my bride's life, in the life of our families and friends. I don't really know how else I can express how I feel, other than just by typing and posting this for all the world to see. Just tune in and find out how it goes in one week. One week. Oh, what hath I done!!!!!

What is up with FOXNEWS today? This picture of Uday (if that is who it is) makes him look like a good guy. So, he's holding a rifle of some sort. Is that a crime? I don't think so. Heck, if you knew nothing of the guy and saw this pic, you are likely to think that he was a friendly chap, easy to get along with, a poker buddy, if you will. Why show a smiling, friendly-looking Uday, FoxNews?

Women-only gym hours?

Being this is women's herstory month, this story is only fitting: Women-only gym hours at Harvard. This is a slippery slope of the worst kind. This is how it works (for those of you in Rio Linda), begin with something small, seemingly insignificant, like gym hours, and than move on to more items, maybe separate times for eating in restaurants or the type of clothing allowed at the beach. When will we AMERICANS stand up and say "HELL NO!!!!!!" to the Sharia Law spreading this way?! What will it take to wake us up?

So, Phil saw his shadow, meaning six more weeks of Winter. I thought so, as that is what the calendar says as well. So, cold temperatures will continue. That is all.

I have successfully canceled my personal MySpace account. Didn't take long at all. You should join me and thousands of others who have canceled their accounts. Tell Murdoch and the execs at FOX to shove it! We webizens demand intelligent design from our sites, that is the main reason I love Facebook. Don't care much for most of the apps, but the main purpose of FB is still there and that is what matters.

New Year

Well, here is my first post of the new year, 2008, a year of campaigning by those that wish to be our next supreme leader. My choice for that position is Dr. Ron Paul, Rep. from Texas. He is the one individual in the battle for top dog that will be the least harmful to our grand America. Think and vote for Ron Paul.

This joke, found while reading a FoxNews article, is not hate-speech, as some may call it, but rather it is humor in its truest form. Just laugh and be merry. Why get angry? It is only a joke, after all. And the councilwoman should not have resigned, she should have stuck to her guns, pasted the joke on her own website, and ignored the stupid mayor. I wouldn't have resigned, not for any threat. One must stand up for what's right and not back down when times get tough. This brings to mind a song by Aaron Tippin You've Got To Stand For Something.

PorkChop is offensive?

I don't get it, how is porkchop an offensive term? It is a food, last I checked. Not one that I personally consume, but still edible by those that do. So, for a group to take offense is highly ridiculous and stupid! They are just looking for something to claim offense over, that is what is happening here and with any matter that a group claims is offensive. Hell, the term 'offensive' is hurtful to me. I don't understand the human condition, I just don't. We want to be harmed, it would appear. If I were an ET, that is certainly what I would think about our civilization.

Not surprised, the devil known as Newdow has popped up once again to challenge our freedoms and our national superiority, and he has suckered a New Hampshire couple into joining his idiotic cause. WorldNetDaily is today reporting that a new case has been filed and the threat to our liberty is not over. We must stand up and defend our Pledge of Allegiance and our National Motto from evil idiots such as a Newdow and his ilk. I may be an agnostic, but I certainly don't support the forced removal of God from our public schools. The Pledge is a time-honored and sacred duty of every student and should continue. That is all.

It is the morning of the memorial service for my Cousin Super Dave and I am in the room typing out this entry for my blog. I will be heading down to the pool shortly to see what it looks like and just to wander about this place. The Mont Bleu Resort is a nice place, great for couples, and the staff is friendly and courteous. This is where Super Dave worked after all.

I will be going about setting up the cameras around 2PM for the 4PM service, presentation, whatever its called. I don't think anyone's come together on what the proper title of it is as yet.

The theatre that we will be using is quite large and has this large drop-down screen that the slideshow will be played out on. Should be fun but also a real tear-jerker as we all know why we are gathered here at this time. We all miss him so much and this is especially difficult on his parents and sister.

I will be signing off now, maid just came by and the room does need its daily cleaning. More later.

This story just keeps changing and only gets better with each change. Kelsey did the right thing, and she should be applauded. Getting an illegal out of this country, right on! Now, I do consider her a bit weird for being in love with a creepy Mexican-born student, but maybe she was faking and was really intending to help America by removing an illegal student. I would like to get to know Kelsey and ask her just that.

Am sure this isn't the last we will hear of this international incident and can't wait for the next update.

Manatee Status="Thoughts of love"

Yet another student-teacher love spasm is being reported today, with a 13-year-old male student and his 25-year-old female teacher running off together to who-knows-where. All I have to say is I hope they stay hidden and evade the authorities for as long as possible. If they truelly want to be together, than so be it, I have no problem with it, kids grow up fast in this modern world and we should accept the monstrosity that we have created. I am in no way saying that Kelsey is a monster, quite the contrary in fact, but rather the modern world where feelings are all-important and self-esteem is king. This world dictates that we allow for students and teachers to get together, to be together, and to love one another as two people should do and feel good about it. So, let them be. I know that as a young student, I had a major crush on one or more of my female teachers, and if one of them had initiated a relationship with me, I would have willingly joined her. I would not have been harmed by the relationship, as some psychos would claim, but rather I would have enjoyed the companionship and maybe would be in a better place today. Who knows? Let students be students and if that involves some romps in the hay with a particular teacher, let it happen, it is educational. That is all.

Mr. Byrnes's comments are spot on and I hope he does not back down. No apology is needed as he is so saying the right thing. Minorities are worthless and, if they don't prepare for the future, than they are indeed throwing their lives away. Education is important and if the NAA(L)CP believes it is than they should show it by supporting vouchers as a way of getting students to learn more than they are now. This is a story only because a white guy has an honest opinion and the blacks have control of the media. That is not a racist statement, but rather a factual one. Just do your own research and refute me, if I am wrong. I know I am not, so there!

Super Dave

My Cousin Dave, whom we always called Super Dave, is gone and his organs will be donated per his wishes. That was the kind of person that he was, always kind, friendly to all, funny, brought a smile to everyone, just can't believe that he is actually gone. He will be missed. The memories I have are of the Thanksgivings that the family spent together in Nevada City, especially the one of some ten years plus ago when my brother, myself, and my cousins Dave and Brian were playing Tecmo Bowl on the original NES and just having a grand ol' time! Then we would go outside and play touch football and have even more fun. Oh, the smiles, the laughter, the family time that we spent together.

Today, I am writing about something personal, about my cousin, 'cause I think that you all should know what I know.

Earlier today, my mom called, as she does on many mornings, to see how I am doing and what is on my agenda for the day. So, we talked for a bit, I told her how busy I figured I would be and what-not, and the conversation flowed like normal. Then she mentioned that my Cousin Kathleen called with sad, ugly news: my Cousin Dave has suffered a massive brain aneurysm and is in the Reno hospital on a ventilator and may not survive much longer. I was blown over, as would anyone be who loses a friend and close family member.

To be honest, other members of my family were closer to him, but I do have many fond memories and I just am at a total loss to express my sadness and despair at this news. I write this post to help myself, and perhaps in doing so, help others as well. After finishing this, I am going to go to work and live my day, while continuing to think about my cousin and his family, hoping that with this huge loss will come healing and the joy that we were able to share this Earth with someone so special and warm-hearted for the time that we had. I would post a photo, but, unfortunately, I do not have one. Cousin Dave is 40, far too young to taken from us. That is all.

I found this story in the odd news section and it is truly odd. What I find odd is not that the woman can crush beer cans between her breasts or the cool ability to hang spoons, but rather this quaint quote: "It sends a clear message to all licensees in Peel that we will not tolerate this type of behavior in our licensed premises," from local police superintendent David Parkinson. He is referring to the fines that were levied upon the two ladies. And it begs the suggestion of ignoring the silly licensing laws. Men want to see topless women, women are willing to go topless, all are happy. That is just good business. Makes me wonder about the police supe's manhood. Is he or isn't he? Doesn't this just fit Australia, the land down-under?

World Series 2007

I am hereby announcing my WS2007 prediction. Just one hour before the first pitch, here is who I think will win and be champions of Major League Baseball. I know others will go into details (good example here) but I like to keep it simple. Let's see how accurate I am when all is said and done. My prediction: Red Sox 4 games to the Rockies 3. Yes, I do think this series will last all seven games. The Rockies will be victorious tonight, BoSox tomorrow, and I don't know from there, but Boston has the edge. I can just feel it. Somethin' in the air, can't explain it, just know it, that is how I see it.

I was all excited when I began reading this article, but, by the end, I was disappointed. I felt led-on to believe one thing was happening when it was really another, much less exciting thing that the story is about. Read it yourself and see if you don't agree.

At the start, the article has this line: "They plan to spend five months working in sub-zero temperatures beneath nearly 3.5km of ice at Lake Ellsworth in Antarctica." At that point, I am thinking, "wow, humans are gonna live under ice, that deep under ice? That's not likely unless they are thinking of a cave, right?" I mean, 3.5km of ice, that is very far down. Then I continue reading the piece and it is about drilling to that depth and my excitement falls with a thud, as this is something I have heard before and really, how original is that? It's been done! Our hard-working researchers living at the South Pole deserve to be recognized for their hard work and long hours and we should see them actively doing things that are interesting and thrilling! What I suggest is building a giant drill, similar to what was seen in that hum-drum movie The Core, and dig into the ice, dig deep, stream it live online and on CNN, FoxNews, MSNBC, CBS, etc. and get the world energized by what might be found. That would be worth spending billions and billions on.

He is reported to have said in an interview just a few days ago, "all our social policies are based on the fact that their (people of Africa) intelligence is the same as ours - whereas all the testing says not really" indicating that he meant Africans are stupid. That I must agree with. The videos I have seen throughout my life regarding that part of the world shows a definite lack of intelligence. And the select few who either get out or stay and move up the slimy ladder of leadership are not necessarily smart, just willing participants in a game larger than the continent that they inhabit. Think about it, name an African with dark skin who has succeeded without unscrupulous help. I urge you to take the time to think about it, and you will be unable to think of one. I challenge you to prove me wrong, I can take it! That is my rant for now.

Dr. James Watson has made yet another statement. He is 79, co-discover of the DNA double-helix design and co-winner of the '62 Nobel Prize in Medicine, an author, lecturer, and pragmatist. He is also very controversial. I suppose that when you get to a certain stature, you have every right to be. So, his latest comments come as no surprise, really. And, scientifically speaking, I do believe he is right. I know that in daily life, he is correct. I know a few highly-intelligent dark-skinned people, but the clear majority, no matter their profession, are seriously lacking in the brain cells department. A good example is our US Congress, where the notion of intelligence is quite missing in action with members who are dark-skinned. That is all I have to say on this (for now).

I have considered it, but this man did it. Burning the Mexican flag is an American's right and patriotic duty. David Bohmfalk had the right idea and I know that I speak for a great many people when I say, "Do it again for the Alamo!" Mexico needs to heed our warning and back off. This opens up the immigration issue, and that is one mean opinion-filled item, but it needs to be said, here and now, close and seal our southern border, secure it with a ten-thousand Americans along it with the order to shoot to kill anyone, and I do mean ANYONE, who attempts to cross without permission and especially those who are pregnant and want their little bundles of shit to be automatic American citizens. Anchor babies. That practice must end! What has happened to our wonderful land of the brave? Where are the patriots? Are we willing to battle for our freedom? Yesterday, I went with my mom to the NorCalRenFaire.org at Casa deFruta. My third straight year going to this fun event. Watched the full-contact jousting event, listened intently and laughed outrageously at MooNiE the Magnif'Cent's antics on stage, and browsed the shops in the marketplace. Always a great time. We even spent the additional bucks for VIP parking. That is how I spent the day before my birthday.

As for today, I will be working in the morning, doing laundry and depositing money into my account or opening a new account with a bank or credit union. Don't know yet. Wish me all the best, 'cause I need it, hehehe.

When I first saw the picture on the FoxNews.com front page, I immediatly wondered "who's the guy?" Then I read the caption and saw it was Mary Winkler the husband killer and was stunned. So, this is what prison does to a woman? Turns a she into a he? Scary!
As for her girls, she should not be allowed to see them ever again, she has done enough damage as it is. The grandparents should get full custody and that should be the end of it.

This morning, I wrote a short piece regarding a story which broke overnight, the student who was tasered after asking Sen. Kerry a radical question. Now, after a full day of facts, we find out that it was a publicity stunt and this student (even though he is named in the article, I wish not to utter said name) was acting out for the cameras that were present at his request.
Sickening! That is the word that comes to mind. We were all tricked and I am disgusted by his actions. I still think the officers did not need to taser him, but his stunt is just as revolting to me.
Although his so-called friends claim that what occurred was not a stunt, after viewing the tape yet again, I believe that is was, is, and that I and many others (including Michael Savage) were taken for fools. It irks me to no end! Why? Why, in the name of heaven, must we fall prey to such maggots? Is it just human nature? Such is the mystery of life and living.

This is outrageous! This video is shocking, not just for what happens to the student, but in the lack of response of the other students. That room should have erupted into a riot against the unlawful attack on the student and those officers should have been beaten down. The tasered student did nothing wrong! It is difficult to watch this video without thinking of what a police-state we are indeed in. What ever happened to freedom of speech? It is missing in action as is courage and integrity among one's fellow students.

And writing about this wedding is cathartic, though I always imagined that it would be lethargic. LOL :-) But seriously, it is fun to plan such a big event, though ours won't be that big, really quite small, or rather medium-sized in comparison to other events. Should be fun, it will be fun, lots of dancing and cake and food. We are doing a buffet-style dinner, after all. This Monday, in fact, Barb and I will do a cake-testing of six different flavors. My, I will be so sugar-high after that. I am almost thinking that perhaps I should re-schedule the DJ whom we will interview at 3 that day. He may run out scared of us on our sugar rush. Perhaps we won't be that scary. I don't know, though time will tell. It always does. Right?

Senator Larry Craig is an idiot, no doubt, but should he resign? I think not. I say let him serve out the remainder of his current term and then replace him. What the Republicans are doing is despicable and wrong. He committed no real crime and, while not condoning his ill behavior, I really think we should all take a long, hard look at ourselves and wonder about our own maturity. So quick are we to throw overboard someone who was a quiet member that we should be throwing ourselves over the boards. Why don't we just fire the entire Senate and start from scratch? Wouldn't that be a smart solution? I think so.

Richard Jewell dead

Richard Jewell is deceased. I saw the headline on the Drudge Report and was instantly in shock. Today marks the tragic end of a national hero and of a man mistreated by our government and the media. President Bush should declare today a national day of mourning to honor Mr. Jewell.
I am happy that Governor Perdue recognized him last year for his actions a decade earlier, though ultimate vindication would come with the AJC offering an apoligy and a full retraction of all stories written during those days that the FBI falsley accused him of being the prime suspect.
What angers me most is the fact that the AJC did not do their own investigation and just took what the government's G-men said at their word. When are G-men to be suspected of lying? Whenever their lips are moving. That is no joke, it's the g*^d@mm truth! Why do we so quickly accept what the media and the government tell us? Why?! Question everything! That is all!

The Boardwalk

Yesterday, on a lark, I travelled over to Santa Cruz, to visit the Boardwalk. I used a Mug Root Beer can to receive a $10 unlimited rides wristband after five and my first ride of the afternoon was Logger's Revenge, since it was in the mid-eighties, which classifies the day as hot. From there, I went over for my first turn on the Giant Dipper and then to the Hurricane. These coasters, what is it? They are fun! But, I also have the bruises to prove that I rode them, hehehe. Love the Giant Dipper! And, for the record, I set a new personal record, riding it four times in five hours. I know, some ride it 10 times in one hour, and perhaps I will do that some day, but this record is a personal best for me. My previous record was just three times in one visit.

I also rode Logger's Revenge and the Hurricane twice. The highlight of the evening for me was Double Shot, no doubt. That is as scary to ride as it looks. You want to see proof that I did it? Here it is: Double Shot image.

I left the Boardwalk at around 2230 and got lost somewhere around San Jose. With a little help from Barbara, I was able to get unlost and arrived at home about 0115 the next morning. Good trip, still tired, can't wait to go again. That is all.

Remembering a legend

Today is an important day, a sad day, a day that should be marked for all time as a somber occasion to remember a comic legend. Yes, I am referring to William Penn Adair Rogers, aka Will Rogers, that American humorist and early star of the silver screen, who died this day in 1935 on a flight with Wiley Post somewhere near Barrow, Alaska. It is a sad day indeed, as it is also the day that Napoleon Bonaparte was born. But, that is less important. That is all.

San Francisco Zoo August 13

Barb and I visited the San Francisco Zoo on August 13 and had a wonderful time checking out the lions and tigers and bears, oh my! You had to know that was coming, lol. Barb got to see her beloved polar bears and I enjoyed watching the monkeys.
We rode BART and Muni to the zoo and afterwards visited the beach which is across the street. Weather was good and not too windy. Good times. That is all.

Been awhile

I have been absent from posting for a few days and that makes me sad. Sorry. But, I am now back and ready for action once again. So here goes nothing.

Tomorrow, Barbara and I will be visiting the San Francisco Zoo, the beach, and other points in the area. She is really pumped to see the polar bears; not sure why. What is it that makes the polar bears so cute to girls? Don't they know that the polar bear is not a cuddly creature? Don't girls know that they can't get close to the bears? These are the largest bears on the planet and they will attack if approached, so always be careful around them. I guess as a guy, I will never understand the draw of a bear, especially one with clear fur.

Also, on the horizon, I will be manning the KYOS board on Wednesday and Thursday morning, as I prepare for the following week when Dennis is on vacation. I know I can pull it off with a flair as easy as my smile. Should be fun. That is all.

Today and more

I am not sure what to write about here, as I don't have much to talk about right now. So, this is what I will post, what I have done so far today. I rise early, around 4AM, depart for Merced by 0515, arrive at Radio Merced, and from 545AM to about 0900 work with Dennis Daily and the KYOS Morning News. After 0900 I drive around for a bit, visit Barnes & Noble, read a book, then return to Radio Merced for the weekly remotes meeting. I get my schedule for the weekend and make my way back here to home for some sleepy-time. Now, up and at them for work at the college, and then back home for a good night's rest. I will rising early again tomorrow morn for KYOS and another day. That is all.

Thoughts of a terrorist

I like Steven's question and his answer. I have often found myself pondering what a good so-called terrorist would do to provoke panic and fear in the masses. My idea consists of setting off bombs simultaneously at 10 different airports, maybe more. Just cooridinate the attacks, which in today's world, would be fairly easy to do. That is all for now.

Book translation problem

In France, a young boy is punished for translating the latest Harry Potter novel. I don't get it, as this story does not give the juicy details, such as into what language Harry was translated into, or how the young man got his hands on a book prior to its French release date. Ok, he probably translated it into French from English, but what is the harm in that? I am quite proud of this boy and Ms. Rowling should encourage such acts, as they do benefit her and the lousy publisher in the end. This is an opportunity for good publicity, if the right people see it. That is all.

Too much time on my hands

I have to much time on my hands, that I sometimes just squander it. Have you ever squandered your free time? Do you have any free time? And how does one squander time anyways? Okay, enough with the questions, now, one with the show. My link for today is for Tom Bodett, one of the many funny people who participate on a somewhat regular basis on the hit game show, "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me!" heard on NPR and via podcast. He has a wonderful blog (as do I, if you haven't noticed) and is always posing significant queries about satisfying topics. I suggest you go and read for yourself what I refer to. Now, off with your head! LOL, just kidding. Just your fingers, next week your head. I jest. Just in that giddy mood, I guess. So, as for what else that is on my mind, yesterday, or rather, last night, my fiance and I saw The Bourne Ultimatum starring Matt Damon. Good movie, lots of action, plotline made sense, just wish the cameras didn't move so much. Made the picture very difficult to impossible to follow along. The action shots would have been better if the camera operators would have held still. Less camera movements equals more action and better story, in my book. But, that is just one man's opinion, ignore at your peril. That is all.

A submarine is discovered in NYC waters and the first thought on most people's minds is terrorism. Why? Because it's New York City? These submariners have not broken any laws, at least not ones that are public knowledge, and should be released and allowed to do their thing. They are harming no one and are NOT terrorists! I can say that with certainty based on the reporting and the images included with the news story. We in America, especially those in New York, are overly paranoid that everyone and everything is dangerous and out to destroy us. What happened to trust but verify? Did that go the way of common sense? I just don't get it. Sadly, we are a nation of rejects and idiots, and I say this lightly with humor, our President should be held accountable in a violent way. Secret Service, come take me away for NOT threatening GWB. That is all.

Collapsed bridge, damaged President

So, a bridge has collapsed of its own free will and President Bush's goons come out swinging, opening with placing the blame for the tragedy on the state and not themselves. Not taking responsibility and now we learn that Bush will visit the site on Saturday, to offer condolences and showing the country that he is still in charge. The last thing that the people there need is a visit from a throng of security personnel and reporters who follow. Being President must be awful, as Bush has demonstrated by his lack of intelligence. Welcome to August!

This is a new month. Indeed. A good month and lots happening, starting with today. At the StanCoFair in Turlock, Blake Shelton, the well-known country music superstar is performing and Barbara, her brother, Patrick, and I will be in attendance, courtesy of my friends at Radio Merced. Thank you, Damien! Should be a good show and I will be sure to get some jerky, if its available.

Later on in the month, on the 11th, Barbara and I will be attending my first Oakland Raiders football game. It is the pre-season opener, sure, but it is still a game! I am excited! Afterall, it's at the McAfee Stadium, which I have already been to twice for Oakland A's games. So, I know the way to San Jose. LOL ;-)

Two days later, the 13th, Barb and I will be attending a vacation presentation at the Wharf in San Francisco, for a trip to somewhere that we can use for our honeymoon. Could be a trap, sounds like a timeshare thingy, we will be careful though.

Near the end of the month, we have two events happening, a concert with Reba McEntire and a concert with Toby Keith. Loud and outrageous, they should be. Am excited as can be.
