Offensive? To Dems maybe
This joke, found while reading a FoxNews article, is not hate-speech, as some may call it, but rather it is humor in its truest form. Just laugh and be merry. Why get angry? It is only a joke, after all. And the councilwoman should not have resigned, she should have stuck to her guns, pasted the joke on her own website, and ignored the stupid mayor. I wouldn't have resigned, not for any threat. One must stand up for what's right and not back down when times get tough. This brings to mind a song by Aaron Tippin
You've Got To Stand For Something.

Homer: greater than life
What is that? An advertisement for a movie? On a hillside? Near a pagan symbol in England, Homer Simpson has popped up in time for his first big-screen role. The Pagans are not happy and nor should they be, as that hillside is sacred ground used mainly for devil-worship and evil deeds. What, the Pagans are good and descent people? Ha! I say! They are weird and ugly and I don't know what else. Really, I think Homer is a nice addition to that hillside, next to that creepy, freakish character that is already there.
One last thought, see The Simpsons in theaters July 27th!
