When I first saw the picture on the FoxNews.com front page, I immediatly wondered "who's the guy?" Then I read the caption and saw it was Mary Winkler the husband killer and was stunned. So, this is what prison does to a woman? Turns a she into a he? Scary!
As for her girls, she should not be allowed to see them ever again, she has done enough damage as it is. The grandparents should get full custody and that should be the end of it.

Maddening prankster!

This morning, I wrote a short piece regarding a story which broke overnight, the student who was tasered after asking Sen. Kerry a radical question. Now, after a full day of facts, we find out that it was a publicity stunt and this student (even though he is named in the article, I wish not to utter said name) was acting out for the cameras that were present at his request.
Sickening! That is the word that comes to mind. We were all tricked and I am disgusted by his actions. I still think the officers did not need to taser him, but his stunt is just as revolting to me.
Although his so-called friends claim that what occurred was not a stunt, after viewing the tape yet again, I believe that is was, is, and that I and many others (including Michael Savage) were taken for fools. It irks me to no end! Why? Why, in the name of heaven, must we fall prey to such maggots? Is it just human nature? Such is the mystery of life and living.

Police state

This is outrageous! This video is shocking, not just for what happens to the student, but in the lack of response of the other students. That room should have erupted into a riot against the unlawful attack on the student and those officers should have been beaten down. The tasered student did nothing wrong! It is difficult to watch this video without thinking of what a police-state we are indeed in. What ever happened to freedom of speech? It is missing in action as is courage and integrity among one's fellow students.

And writing about this wedding is cathartic, though I always imagined that it would be lethargic. LOL :-) But seriously, it is fun to plan such a big event, though ours won't be that big, really quite small, or rather medium-sized in comparison to other events. Should be fun, it will be fun, lots of dancing and cake and food. We are doing a buffet-style dinner, after all. This Monday, in fact, Barb and I will do a cake-testing of six different flavors. My, I will be so sugar-high after that. I am almost thinking that perhaps I should re-schedule the DJ whom we will interview at 3 that day. He may run out scared of us on our sugar rush. Perhaps we won't be that scary. I don't know, though time will tell. It always does. Right?

Senator Larry Craig is an idiot, no doubt, but should he resign? I think not. I say let him serve out the remainder of his current term and then replace him. What the Republicans are doing is despicable and wrong. He committed no real crime and, while not condoning his ill behavior, I really think we should all take a long, hard look at ourselves and wonder about our own maturity. So quick are we to throw overboard someone who was a quiet member that we should be throwing ourselves over the boards. Why don't we just fire the entire Senate and start from scratch? Wouldn't that be a smart solution? I think so.

Richard Jewell dead

Richard Jewell is deceased. I saw the headline on the Drudge Report and was instantly in shock. Today marks the tragic end of a national hero and of a man mistreated by our government and the media. President Bush should declare today a national day of mourning to honor Mr. Jewell.
I am happy that Governor Perdue recognized him last year for his actions a decade earlier, though ultimate vindication would come with the AJC offering an apoligy and a full retraction of all stories written during those days that the FBI falsley accused him of being the prime suspect.
What angers me most is the fact that the AJC did not do their own investigation and just took what the government's G-men said at their word. When are G-men to be suspected of lying? Whenever their lips are moving. That is no joke, it's the g*^d@mm truth! Why do we so quickly accept what the media and the government tell us? Why?! Question everything! That is all!

Robert Greenwald and Senator Sanders have teamed up in this new video that attacks the Fox News Channel and the other mainstream networks for following FoxNews down the black hole of certain doom. It is very important that as many people see this video as possible to get the word out about what the future likely holds, a war with Iran and death for millions. Do not be followers, be leaders! Take up the fight and protect our nation from stupid-heads like Bush, Cheney, and the rest of this hirrible administration! We must fight back! Take up arms, this is a call to action! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! WIN! WIN! WIN!

The Boardwalk

Yesterday, on a lark, I travelled over to Santa Cruz, to visit the Boardwalk. I used a Mug Root Beer can to receive a $10 unlimited rides wristband after five and my first ride of the afternoon was Logger's Revenge, since it was in the mid-eighties, which classifies the day as hot. From there, I went over for my first turn on the Giant Dipper and then to the Hurricane. These coasters, what is it? They are fun! But, I also have the bruises to prove that I rode them, hehehe. Love the Giant Dipper! And, for the record, I set a new personal record, riding it four times in five hours. I know, some ride it 10 times in one hour, and perhaps I will do that some day, but this record is a personal best for me. My previous record was just three times in one visit.

I also rode Logger's Revenge and the Hurricane twice. The highlight of the evening for me was Double Shot, no doubt. That is as scary to ride as it looks. You want to see proof that I did it? Here it is: Double Shot image.

I left the Boardwalk at around 2230 and got lost somewhere around San Jose. With a little help from Barbara, I was able to get unlost and arrived at home about 0115 the next morning. Good trip, still tired, can't wait to go again. That is all.

Remembering a legend

Today is an important day, a sad day, a day that should be marked for all time as a somber occasion to remember a comic legend. Yes, I am referring to William Penn Adair Rogers, aka Will Rogers, that American humorist and early star of the silver screen, who died this day in 1935 on a flight with Wiley Post somewhere near Barrow, Alaska. It is a sad day indeed, as it is also the day that Napoleon Bonaparte was born. But, that is less important. That is all.

San Francisco Zoo August 13

Barb and I visited the San Francisco Zoo on August 13 and had a wonderful time checking out the lions and tigers and bears, oh my! You had to know that was coming, lol. Barb got to see her beloved polar bears and I enjoyed watching the monkeys.
We rode BART and Muni to the zoo and afterwards visited the beach which is across the street. Weather was good and not too windy. Good times. That is all.

Been awhile

I have been absent from posting for a few days and that makes me sad. Sorry. But, I am now back and ready for action once again. So here goes nothing.

Tomorrow, Barbara and I will be visiting the San Francisco Zoo, the beach, and other points in the area. She is really pumped to see the polar bears; not sure why. What is it that makes the polar bears so cute to girls? Don't they know that the polar bear is not a cuddly creature? Don't girls know that they can't get close to the bears? These are the largest bears on the planet and they will attack if approached, so always be careful around them. I guess as a guy, I will never understand the draw of a bear, especially one with clear fur.

Also, on the horizon, I will be manning the KYOS board on Wednesday and Thursday morning, as I prepare for the following week when Dennis is on vacation. I know I can pull it off with a flair as easy as my smile. Should be fun. That is all.

Today and more

I am not sure what to write about here, as I don't have much to talk about right now. So, this is what I will post, what I have done so far today. I rise early, around 4AM, depart for Merced by 0515, arrive at Radio Merced, and from 545AM to about 0900 work with Dennis Daily and the KYOS Morning News. After 0900 I drive around for a bit, visit Barnes & Noble, read a book, then return to Radio Merced for the weekly remotes meeting. I get my schedule for the weekend and make my way back here to home for some sleepy-time. Now, up and at them for work at the college, and then back home for a good night's rest. I will rising early again tomorrow morn for KYOS and another day. That is all.

Thoughts of a terrorist

I like Steven's question and his answer. I have often found myself pondering what a good so-called terrorist would do to provoke panic and fear in the masses. My idea consists of setting off bombs simultaneously at 10 different airports, maybe more. Just cooridinate the attacks, which in today's world, would be fairly easy to do. That is all for now.
